We believe the transition to parenthood or the onset of OCD deserves a specialist’s focus. Our residency program is designed to provide you with elite-level care at a more accessible rate.

  • Doctoral-Level Expertise: Our Residents are doctoral-level clinicians (PhD or PsyD) in the final stage of their specialized training.

  • Senior Oversight: Your care is meticulously reviewed by our senior Psychologists—Dr. Niles Cook and Dr. Erin Cook—ensuring your treatment plan meets the highest clinical standards.

  • Specialized Focus: Our Residents are hand-selected for their dedication to treating OCD, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), and the "scary thoughts" or intrusive obsessions that often accompany them.

A Resident in Psychology at Red Elm is a doctoral-level clinician who has earned their PhD or PsyD from an accredited university. They are currently registered with the Virginia Board of Psychology and are completing their final year of specialized, supervised practice before becoming independently licensed.

By choosing a Resident, you receive the benefit of a practitioner who is current on the latest evidence-based research, while also benefiting from the seasoned diagnostic oversight of our senior Psychologists.

Resident Rate: $130 – $150 per session.
