Online OCD Therapy & Telehealth

Specialized OCD Therapy Across the Lifespan — Including Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Parenthood

At Red Elm Psychotherapy, we specialize in evidence-based OCD treatment, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Through secure telehealth, we provide specialized OCD care to individuals and families seeking expert support for OCD, no matter where they are located within our licensed states.

Our psychologists work with clients navigating OCD across many presentations, including intrusive thoughts, relationship OCD, contamination OCD, perfectionism, reassurance seeking, and OCD during pregnancy and postpartum.

Where We Currently Provide Telehealth

Because psychology practice is regulated state-by-state, we can only provide therapy to clients who are physically located in a state where our psychologists are licensed or authorized to practice.

Red Elm Psychotherapy currently provides telehealth therapy to clients located in Virginia and additional states through PSYPACT authorization.

Specialized OCD Therapy Across Different Presentations

OCD can look very different from person to person. Some people experience obvious rituals or checking, while others feel trapped in invisible cycles of mental review, reassurance seeking, or constant doubt.

At Red Elm Psychotherapy, we provide specialized ERP treatment for OCD presentations including:

Our goal is not to eliminate uncertainty from life — because that isn’t possible. ERP helps you learn that you can move forward even when uncertainty is present.

OCD During Pregnancy & Postpartum

Pregnancy and early parenthood can be particularly vulnerable times for OCD to emerge or intensify.

Many people experience intrusive thoughts, fears about safety, overwhelming responsibility, or a need to do everything “perfectly.” These experiences can be frightening, especially when they involve the very things you care about most.

Dr. Erin Cook specializes in working with OCD during pregnancy and postpartum, including:

Treatment is designed to help you reconnect with your values as a parent without allowing OCD to take over.

What Is ERP Therapy?

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD.

ERP helps you gradually face feared thoughts, situations, or feelings while learning that anxiety can rise and fall without relying on compulsions, avoidance, or reassurance.

Many people worry ERP means being forced into situations that feel overwhelming or being told their fears are “not a big deal.”

That’s not what ERP is.

Effective ERP is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your goals. It helps you build confidence that you can handle uncertainty while living the life you want.
